No you are correct. If you stop the "process" or task on IE. You see NOTHING
but the desktop.LOL

I remember those days quite well I was beta testing IE3 or 4 at the time.
When I had to make IE3 think the midi was a video in order to embed it and
get that wonderful sound in my emails.

My comment is from memory and what I am about to receipt is from many years
ago, so both the story and the accuracy may be questionable. now that I
covered my butt...............

Once upon a time, many years ago in a far off land there were contests
between Netscape and MS concerning MS locking out Netscape. In the court
battles that followed, MS said that IE was so intertwined with 95 and 98
that it would be impossible to remove it without destroying the OS. If my
memory serves me correctly, it is very much interwoven with OE and Outlook.
To remove one would render the other two useless and the OS will not operate
or at least operate with any degree of reliability.

I don't know if things have changed someone else might know.
