no luck at this point....
gonna re-scan for viruses and spyware just to be sure - just so strange.

right click on the IE tool bar and check to see what's listed under
customized.  Another angle is where the separator bars are?? move one of em
and see if the address bar showes up. Sometimes it gets buried. OR moved?
