The Optacon II could actually be used either way, I tried it with my
right hand reading a few times, it isn't easy to do.

Same here. Isn't the Optacon designed so you almost *have* to use your
left hand for reading? I mean, the tactile array is at the right edge of
the compartment where you put your hand. If you read with your right
hand, you'd about have to use your little finger to feel the tactile
array which would reduce the area feeling the information going by.
