It's why that LogLuv scale is no parsimonious wrt bits. I would expect that a
log scaling could also save bits in RGB. Anyay, it is what it is, as they say.

Moving to 10 bits from 8 significantly increases the ability to add detail in
the knee and toe of the image with logarithmic coding.
