Apple now has 76% market share in the MP3 player market and 83% market
share in online music sales.

Apple is making a wise move in the hardware market, essentially getting
out of the R&D side of things. They'll package them in the sleek
packaging Apple's consumers demand and wisely transition into the
appliance and media side of the digital future. Now is the time to do
it while they can ride the profits of iPods and iTMS.
