[muglo] Digital Cameras

God! this choice of a Digital camera is confusing!
Between Canon (my present preference) HP, Sony, Fuji, Pentax. Nikon and
other makes and models.
I've been told to go with HP since they keep up to date with Apples
software , iPhoto etc compared with some other manufacturers.
My needs are NOT high end professional - just architectural, landscape
and family photos - for email, website and printing output. Perhaps the
occasional 11 x 8 printout
In a medium price range - and not wanting to be confused with too many
bells and whistles - as a 'dummy' novice
I've learnt from messages here to go for optical v. digital zoom (3
times seems enough - do I really need 8 X?)
A wide angled lenses might be useful for cityscapes and buildings? I'm
advised to print out via the Mac rather than direct to a printer?
enabling Photoshop adjustments etc ?
The Canon scanner seems to be a good choice for my intended use for
photosprints, slides, negatives and over heads?
Any thoughts - anyone ?
Maybe we should have another User Preference Survey, Paul !! :-)
