A neighbor, quite unexpectedly, received a "missing or corrupt
NTOSKRNL.exe" error - no symptoms, no changes to the computer, nothing.
Thinking it was a virus, she ran Symantec AV from a floppy, no virus
found.  She attempted running the rescue disk that came with the system
but unsuccessful. =20

I installed the HD into a working system and can see directories and
files. The only files I can't see are those that would be related to a
user, such as My Documents.

Is there any way to unlock these files? In lieu of that, is there
someone to whom we can send the HD to have the files recovered.
