Thanks. I posted it. /g A neighbor, quite unexpectedly, received a "missing or corrupt NTOSKRNL.exe" error - no symptoms, no changes to the computer, nothing. Thinking it was a virus, she ran Symantec AV from a floppy, no virus found. She attempted running the rescue disk that came with the system but unsuccessful. =20 I installed the HD into a working system and can see directories and files. The only files I can't see are those that would be related to a user, such as My Documents. Is there any way to unlock these files? In lieu of that, is there someone to whom we can send the HD to have the files recovered. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
