I just think people ought to have options. I use my talking watch when I get
up in the middle of the night, so as not to wake my husband. The phone would
wake him. I also use it if I have Duane hold the phone to get our grocery list
while shopping, and want to look at the time. Like I said, I just like to have
options. when my computer is on, I usually use the window eyes insert T option
to get the time. I don’t use the time option on my phone to view time around
the world, but I do use my weather app on the phone to view Lansing’s weather,
whenever I want a cool down. smile. however, I have a feeling tonight will be
one of the coolest nights we’ll have until winter. It’s already 69 rain
cooled degrees.

For years, I used those talking watches from Radio Shack.
I wore them all the years I was at General Motors; h however, I have not used
a watch since I began using a smart phone about six years ago.
I first used a Windows based Black jack, with the speech program from
CodeFactory, a company in Madrid Spain.
Now, for the past three years, I use an iPhone.
I bought on, because of comments I saw folks on this list making.
I figured if Richard & Steve thought so much of them, I should give one a try.
I did that, and have not looked back.
an Iphone is like an electronic Swiss Army kknife.
Those Radio Shack watches were great in their time; however, that time is
past.
  good Call Radio Shack!

Well, haven’t seen Victor put this news on this list. However, he did
message me through Facebook. Radio Shack, who used to be the cheapest talking
products for the blind, is no longer selling them. Both talking watches, and
talking clocks have been eliminated from Radio shack’s inventory. They claim
that a blind person can get this information from their cell phones. that is
true, but only those who have the I phone or a smart phone, I should say
really. I do use the time and alarm services from my cell phone. But, I also
use my talking watch for time. I know I will definitely miss getting talking
and inexpensive watches from Radio Shack.
