If you feel unsure of the Iphone but want to have one because it's cool and you'll eventually get good with it, why not get a go phone as a backup, that way if you run up against an issue like typing numbers into a bank c\computer or whatever, you've got a low cost backup. Don't be afraid of fear. :)
