Why not use SDI? When I purchased an iGolgi encoder last year, I asked for a
16 input HD-SDI card to be included. I know that it is old-school to use SDI,
but it is easy to work with. With the iGolgi you can use UDP or SDI. Any
method you use has failure mechanism. I had an issue pop up last week where
HD-SDI video out of my Nielsen encoder started breaking up into my encoder. It
was good quality cable. I simply replaced the cable, and the issue went away.
Ethernet cables and switches can fail, too, though. One other reason why I
like old-school SDI cables is that I can use simple relays and switches to
switch inputs.

time limit to overcome, but does work. OPpen source so there is a possibility
someone has already solved it. Steaming becomes inexpensive with small computer
