But you would have to have some kind of separate player as it accepts HDMI (or HD-SDI for a bit more money). You could use a cheap Android TV box to receive a .m3u8 stream or play out your video files.

Still looking for most efficient and best way. But VLC works. It has a 24 hr time limit to overcome, but does work. OPpen source so there is a possibility someone has already solved it. Steaming becomes inexpensive with small computer - even running on Linux os.
