Doug, Thank you very much. That information on sensor design is very interesting and something of which I was not aware. It adds one more attribute to my decision matrix. A quick look at the Leitax Leica-glass-on-Sony-body web page suggests that it yields aperture priority functionality, focus confirmation and body-mounted image stabilization, some of the things that I think an R10 should have. In addition, DPReview.com gives the A900 a glowing report as an excellent basic digital camera, one without all the whiz-bang bells and whistles that needlessly (in my humble opinion) clutter up other cameras.
