Hi, In thinking about a reflex camera replacement for my R9/DMR, the D700 is high on my list based on the experience of several Flexers and recommendations from trusted others, which include recommendations for a few N lenses that would make up a small walking around kit. And of course Leitax mounts can adapt my R glass, sort of. Zeiss is now producing a line of fixed focal length lenses, ZF.2, for a variety of N camera bodies which, if I read correctly, will give them all the functionality that non-auto focus N lenses have on those bodies, including, to quote them, "Manual Exposure Setting, "Shutter Priority (Aperture value automatically set by camera), "Aperture Priority (Shutter speed automatically set by camera) and "Automatic Exposure Control." For details go to http://lenses.zeiss.com/photo/en_DE/other/products/mounts/zf2_lenses.html Has anyone had any experience with this venerable company's lenses with a D700 or other N body? Or any experience with the quality of these Z lenses, however you would like to characterize it? It appears to me that such a combination would be a high quality duplicate of the functionality I enjoyed so much with my R4, R4S, R7 and briefly the R9, with film, and with the DMR, with the advantage of full "modern" (if you will permit me to call it that) functionality with N lenses, and without the penalties of Leitax-mounted R lenses. And yes, I realize the advantages (and disadvantages) of simply picking a camera system and putting all my eggs in one basket. I did that once, and here I am. Thanks in advance.
