[LRflex] Re: Z + N = ? OT (maybe)

Just wondering, could the problem have to do with how the lens interfaces with
a (specific?) digital sensor?

My own experience is different.
While I don't use it often (not really a 50mm fan), I did test the 50mm f/1.4
and the 50mm f/1.8 (both Rolleiflex mount) and found them fairly similar as far
as sharpness went (the 1.4 was certainly very sharp by f/2.8 and still pretty
decent wide open).
The differences in our experiences is puzzling, all the more so since Zeiss
said the lens was o.k.
Could there possibly be some registration or focusingissues on the camera
bodies used (it takes just a tiny error to make a f/1.4 look very bad)?

Chris

Hi Douglas,
Why do they make a 1.4 if they can't handle that??

Hi Herman.
exactly my experience with the 1.4/50 in Contax/Yashica
mount, the 1.7/50 mm is much better.

Seems that the lens hasn't changed.

Cheers
Douglas
