Any EOS camera with live view works better for macro focusing than the 2x
magnifier. I have a Canon 5D MK II and the Leica R 2x magnifier. It is a
class
B fit and not worth the effort when live view works so well.

If this is the one that fits an R8/9
(and as you'd expect)
it is optically and mechanically superb.
I use it all the time for macro;
and other difficult angled shots.

Never considered putting it on the 5D
I'd imagine it would be some sort of P.I.T.A.
though I'll take a look over the weekend.
