I don't know about the Leica finder (though I cannot image it would by anything
less than superb).

But, I own one of these little "doogers", and it fits the R8/R9 and SL series.
Should be adapter to other cameras, though you'd have to try it, to be sure.

Optically, just fine.
I used to own a really poor r/a finder, but it did the job. Sure, there was a
lot of "pinbarrel" distortion, but it only occurred in the finder, not the
images. It was good for focusing/composing, and the rest didn't matter.
When I was given the new r/a finder (above) I gave the old one way to a friend,
who is still using it.
Just my 2 cents worth.
