I'm on W7 64 bit but regret I didn't go the 32 bit route. I'm one of those who experience the system hangups that accompany high altitude IFR flights. Also FSX crashes if two separate actions are taken in quick succession. With a basically similar setup I don't think Tom experiences these problems.

I've tried the dummy UIAutomation.dll fix but, on my system, no improvement.

If I fly VFR, or IFR at 25,000', I don't get the hangups, though I may get FSX re booting if I make too many changes whilst flying.

Hi all,

Could I get a bit of advice from all the FSX Win7-64bit users out there?

I'm moving to a Win7-64bit system in the next few weeks and have read
various forum threads on how FSX should be installed/configured. My only
FSX installations to date have been on XP-32bit so this is all new
territory for me. Should I turn UAC off or install outside the "Program
Files" folder? Do I need to delete the UIAutomation dll? Install
FS/scenery/OS on separate HDDs? Lots of questions which I'm sure you guys
will have gone through to set up your systems.

Any advice on installation and configuration would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Phil
