Make that put focus on the drive, probably local disk C, and alt enter.
Control tab to the tools page. Checkdisk was replaced by error checking
on the tools page.

I have never run a chkdsk on this computer so I guess it is time but I

a few more questions.  I pressed alt enter on my computer and it brought
up
a list of tabs but I could not find a tools option, is it under one of

have you run chkdsk on this machine lately?

Maybe there is some problem with outlook express

To do this on the desk top highlight my computer, hold down the alt
key
and
press enter.  Find the tools dropdown and press enter on the error
correction button.  Check both boxes and hit ok. Then hit ok to close
the
properties

Restart the pc.

When the chkdsk is finished windows will start automatically.

Depending on the amount of items on the hard drive it might take a
while
to
complete so be patient.

Yes, there are a couple of Outlook Express items on Debbie's programs
page, and I downloaded the scripts containing the digits 510. Unclear
what their purpose is or what exactly to do with them, I located
Debbie's helpful hints page, and then her page dedicated to OE. The
link, for anyone following this thread, is:

I find nothing there to suggest these scripts will address the query
that started this thread. As you know, it concerned OE's recent
difficulties deleting and replying to messages. Could you be more

this is going to sound crazy but go to the jfwlite home page and
download the outlook express scripts for jaws 5-6. it has solved a
bunch of issues i've been having with it. debbie was a god send and i
