Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that now this problem has been solved, many thanks to
William Burton from Sight and Sound for his support. It turned out to be that
the HD Driver is interfering with Jaws at start up. Disabling the HD Driver
sorted it out.
Sorry for cross posting but I think I originally posted my query (you can read
it below) to both the Jaws and access UK lists.

Since I reinstalled XP Professional last week on my computer I'm having the
following problem.
I have Jaws configured to start automatically when the computer starts. Jaws
starts ok, but, with no speech. I have to unload Jaws and reload it for Jaws to
talk. I tried this with Jaws 9 and older versions but the results are the same.
Would anyone have an idea what might be bothering Jaws?
