If this user is on Hotmail or Live Mail from Microsoft this might make a bit of
sense however since they are using Outlook Express that would not be a problem.
It is probably the case that Microsoft do not wish to continue support using
the their webmail service with IE7 and therefore encouraging the user to
upgrade. As I say since user's with real email clients are in the minority for
this type of account the message can be ignored since it won't change their
access to email.

Firstly, outlook Express and Internet Explorer are separate products so they
should work. I have not heard of Microsoft sending out these messages so I
wonder if they are spam.

If others have had these messages and they are genuine then let us know and
of course I stand corrected. You could also search for this in google.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Internet Explorer

Hi

I have a friend who has received some confusing messages from Microsoft. He
is being told if he doesn't upgrade from IE7 to IE8 by a date in October, he

will no longerbe able to access his Emails. He uses Outlook Express for
Emails.

I am not clear on the status of Internet Explorer, so can someone please
give me the facts? Will IE7 work after this date? And if it does work, will
Outlook Express still work?

He is using JAWS 9 and does not want the expense of upgrading JAWS until
absolutely necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards
