Hi Axel,

I know that there is a certain convenience. I have hacked on enabling
us to use both solutions. So we would be able to flawlessly switch to
either mode.

The thing is that we are in the process of moving to another webhost
(I don't know if this has been said this explicitly on this list).
Actually, I think it is better to say we are investigating switching
to another web host, the actual move still has to be determined.
Nevertheless, pending reliability and security, it might be better -
as Jorge pointed out - to break this interdependence for reliability
reasons. Also, the current solution is (as will be the future
shared-login solution) a custom work of art, which means that
upgrading software means porting the tools again. I cannot promise to
be around forever, so that is something to keep in mind.

Nevertheless, both options remain open.

Niels
