Dear GA Parents and Friends:

Greetings! This morning's Magazine Sale Prize Assembly was a lot of fun.
The Pig Races were just great. The students and teachers enjoyed watching
the race and the Candy Scramble. I can assure you that our students (your
children) definitely do take a Candy Scramble very seriously! They were
excited to win the candy! Congratulations to 4th grade teacher Mrs. Bonnie
Koenigsknecht for winning the day off from work and $50.00!

Next week begins and ends in special ways, and there are some important
things happening in the middle.

(1) Monday:
      (A) On Monday evening the eighth graders receive their Sacrament of
Confirmation from Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk. Please keep the 8th graders
and their families in your prayers on this special day in their lives.

(2) Tuesday:
      (A) The Standardized Testing Program used by the Archdiocese of
Cincinnati to measure achievement in grades 2, 4, 6 and 8 begins on October
1 and continues over the next couple of weeks.

(3) Wednesday:
      (A) Today is the Feast of the Guardian Angels.
        "O Guardian Angel, cover me with thy wing;
O Friend, illuminate my path. Direct my
        Footsteps and be my protection
Just for today." St. Therese of Lisieux (The Little Flower)

(4) On Thursday the Kuessenacht Troupe from Switzerland will sing, yodel
and play a variety of Swiss instruments for students in grades 5,6 and 7.
This should be a great show for our middle grade students.

(5) On Friday, the first graders and all students new to GA this year
will receive their Guardian Angel Medals after the 8:15 a.m. all school
Mass. This is always a special ceremony each year at GA. It is such a
neat tradition to welcome all of our new students in this manner.

(6) On Saturday at the Religious Education Congress, 4th grade teacher
Mrs. Bonnie Koenigsknecht will be honored with the reception of the
Exemplary Catechist Award. This is a great honor for Bonnie and for GA.
Please congratulate Bonnie with all of us and say an extra prayer for her
on her special day.

Some More Angel Thoughts:

     (1) "Make friends with the angels." St. Augustine

             (2) "Angels are ... awesome beings deserving of great
respect." Rosemary Ellen Guiley

                    (3) We are like children who stand in the need of
masters to enlighten us and direct us, and God has
provided for this be appointing his angels to be our teachers
and our
guides."
                                                                St. Thomas
