Re: [foxboro] Upgrading Foxboro AW from P91, (Dell 2800), to P91, (Dell 2900), 2003 Server

Russ. The difference is that Foxboro maintained a supply of older UNIX boxes
for a long time. You could also find used UNIX boxes on the Internet for spares
even longer. Sales of Dell boxes changes every year (just like the car
industry). You can't buy last year's Dell box from Foxboro, Dell, or Internet
vendors.
Moral to this story; buy a ton of spare P91/P92s at the time you install your
MESH or get used to Day0s. (OK, maybe this is a credo instead of moral)

Damn Blackberry fonts...I guess Kevin has a winding translator..as he
could read it.

What I meant to say...

Duc. Not any differnt than Solaris. Can't take a backup of a 51D and
load it on a 51F either. Same pain. The Dell 2800 to a Dell 2900 is a
similar comparison. Enough drastic differences to cause recovery issues.

In no other instance that a figure of speech has such a literal

interpretation. I can almost hear the faint echo of a diabolical cackle.

Tom, welcome to the Foxboro Chamber of Pain.

(And, I'm afraid, I'll be dragged there sooner or later.)
