I have seen the Blazer do this before; try resetting the Blazer. When you power up the Blazer, hold down the three menu keys at the same time you turn on the power; that lovely voice will say "Okay to reset?" then press the three menu keys again to complete the reset. You may have to make sure all your printer configuration settings are still the way you want them, but this should fix the spurious character problem.
