Hi Dave and Peter.
Frankly in principle that may be true however the default line spacing has
changed over time in the index embossers.
If mechanical changes are made in the embossers as was the case a year or two
ago with the index line then their default line spacing could change and the
numbers indicating the changes in line spacing
could also change as the granularity over the control ofthe line spacing.
I submit it is possible for a numeric change in the line spacing setting on an
index embosser to have a different effect depending on the models, mechanical
changes made by the manufacturer etc and it is
possible to have two Index embossers of the same model and firmware version
with different mechanics in them making the line spacing numbers or settings
perform differently in both.
This could happen because one individual upgrades firmware but does not pay
for the more expensive upgrade to the newer mechanics solanoids etc. introduced
by Index a year or so ago.
I don't see how DBT can account for that very easily and probably it really
shouldn't be expected to.
Let see where we end up going with this since I guess it could be debated
endlessly and we probably don't heed that at this point.
