<sigh> I'm bound to have forgotten some. You can use DPScan on Windows 
to produce Acorn Sprite files.

Indeed one can, and I also have an app Win side that can save things out
as Drawfiles.

The above are native formats, a whole other question is import filters, 
I don't know off hand what happens when you load a TIFF file on Windows, 
does it turn into a Sprite or a BMP. (I believe it converts to Sprite, 
so that's another way of producing RISC OS compatible documents).

The files I was using Win side were just .BMP, and as per the previous
time, after the problem surfaced, I took the set of BMP files RISC OS side
and dropped 'em in the appropriate frames, thereafter the document
illustrations were okay on both OvPro sides of the OS divide.

I must, as it often my nature, have a mess with it some more and see what
turns up,  ;-)
