That's like holding your finger on the space bar to make subsequent text start on the next line! All you need is ctrl-P (shortcut for Misc > Insert > New page). In the same way that return/enter forces subsequent text onto the next line, this forces text into the next frame in the linked chain (thus 'New page' is something of a misnomer). Thus replace your multiple carriage returns between pages 1 & 2 (which would need to be changed very time the length of page 1 changes by one line or more) with a ctrl-P. Then add another ctrl-P to force the text currently at the top of page 2 to page 3. Then move the cursor back to the top of page 2 and paste your additional text.
