I've now checked as you note above Colin and it was set as you suggest
(not something I ever set) I've now Set "Auto page delete" OFF and it does
indeed insert a new page, but not between page 1 and 2 (Insert 1 pages
after page 1) but at the end of the damn document.
And no, the caret is not at the end of the document when I issue the
instruction.
