Thanks, Lumi. The HS was single elim, so there was a bit of luck involved in
the draws. Amos got knocked out in the first round. I lost to the guy who went
on to win, but at least by that time I’d made the top 4, so could do the 3rd
place playoff. There is a big difference in playing proper tournament decks and
just having fun though. Next time I will make sure I am playing
tournament-ready decks and that I know them inside out.
I can’t comment on most of the organisation, just the MK, Hearthstone and SF5.
It was quite the contrast. The MK and HS were really, really badly organised.
The SF5 was really well organised. Chatted to the Zombie guys on Saturday and
they were pretty unhappy with the overall organising of the thing. Similarly
the HS guys landed up buying extra multiplugs because they weren’t provided,
then using their phones for hot spots because the net access was so dodgy.
Despite the screw-ups, I had a lot of fun though. It was good to meet so many
HS players. They seem to have get togethers quite often at someplace in
Rondebosche. Lance got their details, so he’ll let us know when things are
happening.
GB took not just the SF money, but a bit of the MK money as well.

Either you do that, or you run multiple games, but you do it stupidly strictly.
Close registrations. Give people 30 seconds to get to their matches after you

Alpha Dynamo? I’ve never heard of it. Which kinda makes sense as well.

, we started at 1 and we still finished well before the time.
Alpha Dynamo is some financial term for above average profits. which kinda
makes sense.

Yeah, probably the best organised thing there. Then again, we weren’t reliant
on the overall organisers for anything, which helped.
