If you have 2 bars of meter you should never get punished after HP DP because
it's actually hit-confirmable (you can cancel after the 2nd hit). Takes a bit
of practice though. Otherwise just mash LP DP. Quickest DP recovery in the
game I think, even after being nerfed.

I am mashing DP a fair bit. The problem is that since I don’t know the game, I
tend to use it pre-emptively, rather than as a reaction to anything. A blocked
 DP gets punished so easy.
I didn’t know about the any down thing.

As a Ken player you will learn to love mashing DP. You don't need to do the
EWGF motion. It's any forward direction, any down, any forward. So df, db, df
+ p will work. Alternatively, mash backdash or focus
 backdash. Focus Backdash is riskier but you recover 2f faster relative to
normal backdash because the attack undergoes a 2f impact freeze.

@Paas – Ken’s normals aren’t all that fast. If I need a 5f normal, then I’ve
got the light attacks (4f), or crouch ones – all 3-5 frames, except sweep (7f)

Fireball is 14f on startup. Dp is 3f for lp/hp and 4f for mp.

Tatsu is 6f startup.
