I forgot to mention my first Opus BBS - ran on a Sanyo MBC-555-2 (8088 XT
class running 8mhz) wih NO hard drive, 2 5.25" DSDD floppies, 640k RAM (kb,
not mb) and CGA color. Ran fine for the 25 users that wanted to get on and
leave a few messages and maybe up/download a file or two. I had a different
floppy each day for the file area. All text based too.

Full height drive it's called, CD-ROM drives are half-height. Back then
I ran a BBS off a rickety old 386sx. The thing had 8 30-pin SIMM slots
and a grand total of 2Megs RAM, with all the slots filled. I had two
single-spin CD-ROM drives(Real Sony CDU-53's). It had a 120Meg disk
partitioned in half. I ran PCBoard on that thing.

Do you remember hard cards?

I'm 20 years old, and I tell you, it's a bad sign when a person my age
reminisces about the "good old days".
