Dear Christina,
I don't know how many of us are on the list; but we do stray just a bit.
I can't think of anything foody to tell you, so I'll just say that I too am a twin. Henry and Penny.
He is sighted, and I am decidedly not.  (Smiles.)
There was an old nag that used to race at some track in Chicago when we were born. The horse's name was Henny Penny, and if she had ever won a race, my father could probably have put us through college on the winnings-- that's how behind she was.
My father never bet on the races, but he had his 2 dollars down on Henny-Penny, but she never won.
Okay, I'll desist.
Best,
Penny

Jon, thank you. I'll be glad to have the recipe, whenever you have a
chance. And I know your wife appreciates the extra hour or two of
rest. All can be set right with the world, with a little additional
sleep.

Penny, aww, thank you. Kisses bestowed. *smile* Yes, they are a joy. I
have one of each--Luke and Sharon. Now juggling the phone and the two
of them to get a picture would indeed be a challenge! *laugh* I'd
probably just drop the phone on someone's head; can't have that!

Okay, so as to keep this somewhat on topic, for a little treat, I made
this pound cake last week, and it all disappeared the same day!

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 sticks *1 cup* unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
4 large eggs, room temperature

Whisk eggs, set aside.
In medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla and
almond extracts. Add in the beaten eggs, a little at a time, mix after
each addition.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture, and mix just until flour is incorporated.

Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
