If anyone could download the .ark files and convert them to .rtf files and release these converted .rtf files, then more of us would be able to validate them. My problem is that I no way of opening .ark files. Does anyone know whether Kurzweil has a mechanism for doing these or if I can get a program to unlock the .ark files? Does the Book Share office have such a program (if one exists)? If anyone wants me to, I would be happy to speak to Paul, a technical personal at Kurzweil and speak to him about this problem. He knows who I am because I have spoken to him a great deal over the years. Let me know. If I see them staying for a long time, maybe I'll take some when I finish other things and just not do a careful reading but just check pagination and do a spell-check. I've done a coupleof books in the past that people have asked for that I started to read and gave up on but did the minimum and validated with spell-check on so I caught some stuff. Interestingly, they were excellent scans--I didn't find much wrong other than some formatting where there were charts or photographs.
