Offering a higher reward for validating textbooks or technical materials might
be helpful. For myself, I will validate those types of materials on certain
topics--psychology, history, neurology, language and linguistics--but you
couldn't possibly pay me enough to get me to validate an economics book. <grin>
I also have an idea that if someone is going to use a book for a class, the
book needs to be in really good shape. There's nothing more frustrating than
trying to interpret the contents of a text and learn from it at the same time.
And if you're doing the work from a textbook and reading it for a class it can
be almost impossible to do a good editing job at the same time.
