Mickey,
I think you're having a senior moment here!
If you remember back, when Bookshare was in its initial beta phase,
and trying to build its collection, with a great many books all we
could look at was the front
matter, a page or 2 at the beginning of the book, and another page or
so at the end.
My, how things have changed, and yes, for the better.

Originally, we validators were to check the number of pages every
ten pages, to make sure none were omitted, to check for copyright
information, to run a quick spellcheck. Some of us were not secure
with this, and read the books. This has evolved into the norm, thank
goodness. But at first, we were expected only to spotcheck.. I think
that's where the problem comes in.
I'll be happy to do anything except fantassy. I know that many other
people love that, so I stay away. I won't do math without the book.
Otherwise, anything goes, because there's a need for everything.
