Hi Allison, I, for one, really enjoyed your long message. You said this is your first year at CSUN, but where did you meet these guys before? Was that at a NFB or ACB convention? I just assumed it was CSUN. <smile> Sue S. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allison Hilliker" <allison.hilliker@xxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 21, 2005 10:33 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: CSUN Hi guys! This is just the usual Allison now subscribed under my other email address. I set vacation mode for CSUN, and then decided I didn't wanna stay using that email anyway, so resubscribed. I'm back from L A and still living. I think that, if I work on it, I may even remember what went on there. All the palm trees, the square dancing, and eight hundred and three people crowding the Benetech booth made it a pretty wild time, all be it now just a lil blurry in my mind. It was my first CSUN, and I had a blast. Being able to be there with Bookshare made it even better. And in response to everyone's two most burning questions. Yes, the Bookshare bunch is just as nice, and as totally weird, as they seem over the list. And, yes, I was the one who tipped off the police as to where Pratique was. Sorry Prat! But they were offering me money, and I need it to afford all the purchases that CSUN lead me to wanna make! Seriously guys, there is some really amazing stuff there. I loved walking the exhibit halls, It was incredible, I really want it all! Bad things really could happen to my credit card at that conference. I liked being able to get to know a lot of you in person while there. Donna was a complete sweetheart and rescued my Braille Note for me. Noel and I discovered some shared writing interests. I finally grasped that E, on the list, and the woman called Liz in the volunteer meeting are actually the same person. I learned all about Darrell's obsession with Tom Clancy. And Pratique? Yup, a great guy, but Well, yeah, we already know what happened there. Bookshare did a small volunteer gathering that I thought went very very well. There were some great people with some really good ideas. Marissa did a nice job at that meeting keeping everybody in line and on topic. That said, I think I preferred the after hours Marissa at the bars, but that's a whole other story! <smile>. Now I'm off to go try and get myself back into the mind-set of school and work. <sigh>.
