This probably won't affect anyone using a modern device for measurement
purposes. But I'll mention it just in case.
The above works well with devices like the 2i2. But some older devices that
also offer 'mono' may cause the scope program to give you dual-mono not
stereo. With Colin's advice to guide me I've now fixed this and will at
some point replace the above with version '2.04(16k)b'. This skips any
'mono' offerring and asks explicitly for stereo.
FWIW The device that showed up the problem here is an old Behringer UCA202.
