Here is what I'll call a 'release candidate':

It works here with my Scarlett 2i2 and a Behringer UCA202.
The 2i2 is Audio Class 2 and gives 96k/24 bit results.
The UCA202 is Audio Class 1 and gives 48k/16 bit results.
So it should work with most stereo (i.e. 2 channel) Class 1 and Class 2
ADCs. The above version is known *not* to cover all devices because - as
yet - I can't get it to work with my Benchmark ADC1. (This is Audio Class 1
but offers 96k/24 by only sending 3 bytes per sample. So a bit... or do I
mean byte, unusual! :-) )
I'd be pleased if anyone with a suitable RO machine+OS+USB ADC can give it
a go and let me know how they get on, saying what device, machine, etc,
they tried. It should work on systems that Andrew has provided USB Audio
support on for their hardware.
As it stands the program tries to get 96k/24 from the ADC, but that isn't
available drops down the rate and/or sample size to 48k/16bit. For later
versions I can make that more user-controllable if it is needed. However
note that the above contains the sorce code, so if you know how to fiddle
with 'C' you're welcome to tweak the main section of the code. (Note that
Colin's code is provided under a license. Mine is crap, so you can do
whatever you like with it!)
May be able to tweak following feedback, but am leaving that for the
future.
