Slashes should be converted to dots automatically by LM98 so SafeStore
doesn't deal with these. In fact, if it did then LM98 would promptly change
it back the wrong way. As for the hyphen, I'm not sure about that. It
certainly isn't generated by SafeStore. I read your statement about a 'dot'
file to mean a file starting with a dot, but Alan Adams clearly read it as
meaning just a single dot character for the name. If the latter, I suppose
it's possible that LM98 might convert that to a hyphen as it knows that a
single dot would confuse other OS's, but I'm just guessing here.
