Test B (scaling): as noted last night, a spectacular fail.

Test C (gradient): fail.

Test D (painting): pass.

Test E (channel mixer): fail.

Test F (Gaussian blur): fail.

Test G (normal blend): pass.

Test H (addition blend): pass.

Pretty damned pathetic.

I remember doing the layer blend tests some time back, seeing Photoshop pass
(with, of course, that setting Ryan mentioned properly set), and simply
assuming that that was the end of the story.

Now I know better.

Thanks! for checking.

That same setting that Ryan mentioned was also in CS2, so probably even in CS2 painting and some? all? of the layer blend modes were done on linear gamma RGB.
