The Spyder 3 is a old one that may have been improved during the years. But to believe it a test with a spectrophotometer would be a good thing.
Hi Magnus ,I think the article you cited is referring to the old Spyder2, not to two releases of Spyder3.
And about the reply from Datacolor, I guess it's a standard near-automatic response, it talks about the old Spyder2.
Please note, that our Spyder2 sensor has been construced more than 5 years ago and is therefore no longer compatible with latest display technologies, such as LED-Backlight, Wide-Gammut and screens with a glossy surface. But all our Spyder3 products are fully compatible with all these latest display technologies, also widegammut.
IT could be very interesting to ask Datacolor if the Spyder3 is "fully compatible with all these latest display technologies" only... with in-bundle software.
