*Sharing of Joys and Concerns, Dec 8*

   - Gloria - glad for a successful Sharing with Santa fundraiser raising
about $8000. Thanks for the support as CDC continues to try to meet their
   budget for 2013.
   - Gloria - pray for Angel, 23 year old son of a family formerly
connected with CDC. Angel was in a serious car accident a year ago and
continues reconstructive surgeries and adapting to disabilities.
   - Gloria - Pray for a patience with a difficult CDC family.
   - Pat - pray for a family who has a child with cancer.
   - Ron - grandmother of their future daughter-in-law (Mikki and Jared),
died. Mikki was close to her grandmother.
   - Bob Knipe - requested prayers for co-workers who often feel lonely in
their work of promoting healthy lifestyles.
   - Sarah P. - enjoyed reconnecting with a former patient recently.
   - Greg - grateful for the message today. Struggling with family
relationships and making ends meet (during the meal the congregation
   donated $74 to help).
   - Dixie - remember homeless, especially with cold weather.
   - Dama - thankful for the presence of God in her life. A person's
relationship with God is the most important. Love God, love neighbor.
   - Steve H. - expressed appreciation for the congregation and the many
gifts present. Appreciated Stacey's sermon on relationships.
   - Lee - invited the congregation to help a family in need. A single

is moving into her own housing in January and needs household items. The

*A week or two ago, Jen and Stacy shared about children at Andrews
Elementary being hungry on weekends. They shared specifics of the Andrews
Elementary Bag Buddy Program. So far, a box of food items has been donated
at AMC for this program which sends non-perishable food home with children
on the weekends. Jen and Stacy will deliver the food next week. There are
handouts at the church with suggestions for what to donate. Thanks for
helping to feed hungry children in Austin!*

A poem from Mennonite Women USA's *A Postcard and a Prayer*

*Emmanuel, God With Us *

by Ursula Green

Thank you God, for that silent night
when Love entered our human experience.

Emmanuel - God with us . . .

a fragile, helpless baby boy

a poor young couple with no appropriate space to labor and deliver Love,

travel wearied and scared,

far from the familiarity of home.

Thank you that in all His experiences He can identify with us and walk with
us.

Please walk with us who are fragile in body, mind and spirit.

Walk with us who are helpless children in abusive situations.

Walk with us who are frightened, sick, sad, and without hope,

the alienated,

   the addicted,

      the homeless,

the prisoner,

   the refugee,

      the stranger,

         the weary.

Into the silent nights of our loneliness,

breathe Your breath of pure love and companionship.

Into the sleepless nights of our dread, desperation and debilitating pain,

breathe Your breath of calm reassurance and sweet peace.

Into the sweet nights of our contentment,

breathe Your burning desire that all creation be reconciled to Yourself.

In the name of Jesus,

who identifies with us in all of our human experience, Amen!

May it be so! Amen.

Ursula Lundall Green, Goshen, Indiana says, "The loves of my life are my
husband, Stanley Green; sons, Lee and James Green; teaching elementary
students; knitting and singing."
