*April 7, 2013 at AMC* Jen Graber preached a sermon about "How to see the resurrected Jesus." She told a moving story about how she experienced the presence of the risen Christ at an Amish funeral as the church community forgave the young driver who accidentally killed a member of the Amish community. *Prayer Sharing:* - Anna is feeling good and continues to appreciate prayers and support. - Janice gave greetings from Ted Jr. and encouraged letters to him and the parole board. - Rudy shared about what a blessing Clarence Bassett was to him. (There was a service of celebration in memory of Clarence Bassett on April 6, 2013.) - Peggy asked for prayer for her cousin, Mary Ann, who is facing thyroid surgery for cancer. - Karen expressed appreciation for the help she received from colleagues and friends in response to her flooded classroom during the recent rain. - Craig H. asked for prayer for homeless, especially homeless women. - Carl - This will be the last week of MDS Bastrop for the spring. The unit will start back up in the fall. An MDS house will be dedicated on Tuesday. - Steve H. asked for prayer for biology professor Lisa G. who is homebound and needs some assistance. - Bobbie K. expressed appreciation for young people connected with the church. - Stacey recently attended a conference in Austin focusing on early childhood issues in Austin and appreciated people and programs working hard to improve early childhood quality of life in Austin. - Pat H. expressed appreciation for the way folks in AMC share their musical gifts. *Congregational Meeting* 1. The Leadership Board shared information about the spring community-building small group process "Serving Christ, Simply, Peacefully, Together: Exploring Vision and Identity." Small groups will meet geographically with a facilitator and scribe to have an appreciative conversation about the life and direction of Austin Mennonite Church. Copies of the guiding document were sent on the listserve and are available at the church. 2. Treasurer Pat Hochstetler presented an update on AMC finances during the potluck meal.
