Roland,

What material do you now use for your VersaCamm to produce your heat
transfers?

We had the same thing happen when we checked out Roland Versacamm
SP300V printer/cutter at the shows. They had great samples there,
digital print vinyl transfers on shirts, sublimation prints, etc.
besides the banners, vinyl, and posters it printed.
Got the machine...then realized that you can only set the machine up
for printing 'everything' except sublimation prints, OR sublimation
ink prints ONLY. You can't switch back and forth...they never bring
that up at the demo.
And the transfer decals they demo at the show-aren't on the material
the suppliers have from them-the 'recommended' transfer material is
pure garbage-colors are horrible and no where near good match. Found
out from many other Versacamm owners the BEST material is by another
company. Got some-wow-its totally different...and funny thing-quality
matches what they had at show...NOT their material!
At the shows and demos, you can be sure that the materials/imprints/
heat settings, etc. have been tested and retested over and over to
make sure you ONLY see the 'absolute best' product produced.
The T-jet is not new-I think HP or someone had a 'direct to teeshirt'
printer on the market about 12-15 years ago, same time they had a
'direct to photoscreen' printer for perfect alignment and detail of
images for screening. A year later-gone from the market-both of them.
Too expensive, didn't work as designed, images didn't hold up on
shirts, whatever reason. I'd still say, wait a year or two and let
them get the bugs out of the systems and come out with the 'new and
improved' machine...just like Melco did with the Amaya...if we had
ONLY waited 2 years!
