[amayausers] Supplier Prices Troublesome

Hi,
We are just starting our embroidery business and signed up for an account at a
Major supplier of apparel items. I have a friend who is in the business and
also has an account there already. I looked up many items while I was waiting
for my account to be set-up with the supplier so I could price some basics and
order them as soon as I was in their system.
Here is what I found:
Example:
Medium Shirt $10.55 EA (friends price) $18.08 (my price)
2XL Item $16.38 EA (friend price) $22.95 (my price)
UPS - Surface Shipping: Free (friend)
UPS - Surface Shipping: (starts around $17.50)
From what I can tell I am paying 60% - 80% more than my friend for the same
items.
I have not called the company yet, they are closed since it is the weekend.
Is this common with suppliers? I am also an ASI member which I thought might
lower some prices at some places.
