Going to throw my 2 cents in.

I have both. The fast frames do have a use, BUT, in 4 years I have yet to
find the nitch for them. Sticky paper is a real pain. Cleaning them after
use is a big pain. Sticky paper will not hold anything with any weight/bulk.
This leaves you as John said, trying to find a way to keep something on
them. The upside is they do allow you to get some items on the machine that
you would not otherwise be able to. I look at them now as a long term
investment.

The clamp. A little more versatile. Certainly easier to use. GREAT for chest
designs on Carhartts. The downside is they do not put much tension on the
fabric. Not sure they would be worthwhile on an unstable fabric. They also
do not allow you to get any of the garment past where they mount to the
pantograph, so if you need to stuff a bunch in to get to your design
location, forget it. I have the (I think) the 6 X 5.5 window and do not plan
to purchase any additional at this time.
