Thanks for that Martin.
As it comes relatively soon after making TB free, I wonder if they were
planning something like this fund all along.
RNIB Connect membership is also free now.
Perhaps alongside making TB free and now membership free, they have also all
along been planning to step up fundraising by other means? Seems a risky
strategy, especially with all the negative press about Charity fundraising.

I found it under donations by typing in talking book fund in search. It's a
just giving page thing. Makes me wonder if they have really screwed up on
the future funding streams and we might be seeing the subscription model
coming back again. If so, they'd have to go some to explain the mess they
made of the "everything's free!" then rowing back on that so soon. Re what
would come out of it, if subscriptions were asked for, I think the RNIB would
have to go some not to anger everyone, say everything for £50 per year,
that's access to talking books through overdrive and usb stick. Just my
thoughts here.

Just got email fron RNIB Connect, which contained the following:
"Help grow the Talking Books library
RNIB has launched a new online fund allowing supporters to donate more
easily, as teams work hard to reach their targets through unique
fundraising drives and activities.
The charity encourages those who find the talking books service of benefit
to setup an online fund and a new book to the online shelf. You can find
out more by visiting rnib.org.uk/talkingbooks"
Is it just me? I am puzzled as to exactly what this means?
Comes very soon after their making Talking Books free...
The link they provide does not give further info about this fund, as far as
I can see.

much longer. expect the RNIB to ramp up their campaign with strap lines
along the lines of"without your support we cannot continue to offer this
service" or something to that effect./
