AdrienThat sounds good news. Of course there is the magnification with Supernova but as you say the Specs are good.

Hi Eleanor I was talking to Lee at dolphin on Wednesday, I asked him about the nc10 and he looked at their website (samsung's) and he told me that there is no reason why hal shouldn't work because the specs are very high. I would imagine that supernova would be the same. Has anyone tried it perhaps? He thought I'd be better off with a laptop!!!! That one hasa simcard slotunder the battery and you just insert a Three simcard inand use theirbroadband. This feature is useful for when out and about. No need to lookfor a wifi hotspot.----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: <bcab@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, December 12, 2008 9:14 AM Subject: [access-uk] Netbook thread revisitedHi All Apologies for cross-posting for those subscribed to bothlists, but thistopic has been covered on Access UK and BCAB recently. Having been very interested in the thread of Netbooks, Idecided to havea wander round while on a couple of days leave last week, and have nowpurchased the Samsung NC10. I looked at the Advent andAsuss machines,as well as a similar spec Packard-Bell and the Samsung.I chose thelatter because I just liked the keyboard that little bitbetter. Forthose who use a Pac Mate qwerty, the keys on the Samsungare not unlikeit, and I felt comfortable typing on it without feelingtoo cramped upfor space. I've now installed JAWS, K1000 and Microsoft OfficeProfessional 2003,and find it works a treat with these and other programs Ihave added anduse regularly. In fact, it's a cracker! I particularlylove itsportability, and bought a nice little bag that takes itsmains chargerand has room for other items like an external drive orUSB pen.For those interested in wanting to buy one of thesemachines, the SamsungNC10 comes with 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, WiFi andBluetooth, Windows XPHome, has three USB ports, ethernet connection, microphone and headphonesockets, and a battery life purported to be around the2.5 hour mark. They come in I believe blue, white and black, the latterbeing the choiceI went for. They cost around £300. All the machines I looked at had very similarspecifications, with aslight variation on the estimated battery life. For me -and this isvery personal to the individual - the Samsung had justthat bit nicerkeyboard. So far, so brill!!
