[TechAssist] Re: [TechAssit] RCA - 27" TV - PMR623ER - CTC130A - Dead - Shorted HOT

While digging a bit deeper I decided to monitor the raw 150V +B which is
derived via bridge rectifier consisting of CR101-CR104, this bridge's AC is
supplied via 2.7ohm/15w resistor R102. Anyway while monitoring the 150VDC I
noticed that evertime the TV tried to fire-up the raw +B would drop
dramatically, almost in half before it would "click" - "shutdown" and start
the cycle again. I suspected R102 breaking down under load and swapped it
with a known-good resistor, same problem!! Question is what would cause +B
to drop dramatically? What is causing such a load? Again, I'm stumped but
still digging. David Lessard, Alexandria, Ontario, mr_fixit@xxxxxxxxxxxx
