I have never heard a single aberration of any file from CDEX, :) and
wonder if NCH is doing that to get you to "register" their program. :)
Nice to have another audio-file on the list. Been a musician for a lot
longer than I can remember, I suppose. one of those absolute pitch guys
too, which makes others paranoid if you know what I mean, particularly
other musicians. :)
I know you've been there!

Regarding Cdex:
I remember trying to download it during last year, but since I have Macafee
antivirus, as well as Smartscreen filter, it tells me it's unsafe and I can't
download it, very weird. That's why I use NCH, but it does have a slight
audio problem at the beginning of every track. Or are you guys more
interested in keeping the tags in the files (artist, title, number, etc?).
If so, I can't really help you there, but like I said, you could record a
whole Cd with Audacity, split the files with Studio Recorder, and edit the
Metadata in Audacity, but you'll have to remember all the artists, tracks etc.

Curtis,
I have used CDEX for years; not sure if it's around any more, but it's
converted thousands of CDs and never failed me.
